Once your application is submitted, the admissions team at South Sydney College will review your documents to process your Offer Letter.

  • Application Requirements
    Ensure you’ve submitted the following:
    1. Completed Student Application Form
    2. Academic documents (e.g., School Certificate, Diploma, etc.)
    3. IELTS/English proficiency transcript (English exemptions apply to some countries)
    4. Passport (all visa pages)
    5. A short resume

Accepting Your Offer and Providing GTE Documents

Once you’ve received your Offer Letter:

  • Review the Offer Letter
    Carefully check all the details, including:
    • Your personal information
    • Course name(s)
    • Intake dates
    • Upfront fees and payment plan
    • Terms and conditions

If everything looks correct, sign the Offer Letter and prepare the following GTE (Genuine Temporary Entrant) documents:

  • GTE Document Checklist
    • Statement of Purpose (SOP): 1–2-page summary statement
    • Genuine Temporary Entrant Statement: 5–6-page document explaining your reason for studying in Australia
    • Cover letter listing the documents submitted for the visa application
    • Signed Offer Letter
    • Work experience letter (if there is a study gap)
    • Financial documents: e.g., bank statement, loan approval letter
    • Income source documents: job/business contracts, rental agreements, payslips, etc.
    • Tax clearance certificate
    • Police clearance document
    • Sponsorship-related documents (if not self-financed):
      • Relationship documents with sponsor(s)
      • Sponsor identity documents
      • Financial support statement from sponsor(s)
    • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) document

What Happens Next?

Once your GTE documents are submitted, the following outcomes are possible:

  1. GTE Approval:
    • If all required documents meet SSC’s GTE requirements, you will receive approval.
    • You can proceed with the payment of fees as outlined in your Offer Letter.
    • The Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) will be issued within 1–5 business days.
  2. Request for Further Documents:
    • If additional documents are needed, SSC will contact you.
    • You will need to provide the requested documents promptly.
  3. Refusal:
    • Applications may be refused if documents are incomplete, fraudulent, or fail to meet SSC’s requirements.

Important Notes

  • All documents must be certified by a qualified authority (e.g., Notary Public, Justice of the Peace, or authorised personnel in your country).
  • Each document must be submitted as a separate file with a clear file name (e.g., IELTS, Academic, Passport).
  • Processing times for GTE approval may vary:
    • 1–5 business days if all documents meet SSC requirements.
    • Longer if additional documents are needed or requirements are not met.
  • Sponsorship amounts should cover:
    • 1 year of SSC tuition fees
    • 1 year of living costs ($29,710 in 2024)
    • Health insurance for the study period plus 2 months
    • Airfare

When you’re ready, submit your application through the official Online Visa Application Portal

Important Notes

  • Provide all supporting documents with your visa application. Missing documents may delay processing or result in rejection.
  • After submitting your application, you will receive instructions from the Department of Home Affairs to complete:
    • A Medical Test
    • A Biometrics Test
      These tests must be conducted at authorised providers.

Possible Visa Outcomes

Once your application is processed, the Department of Home Affairs may issue one of the following outcomes:

  1. Visa Grant:
    Congratulations! You’re ready to begin your studies at South Sydney College.
  2. Request for Further Documents:
    A visa case officer may ask for additional documents. Respond promptly to avoid delays.
  3. Refusal:
    If documents are incomplete, fraudulent, or if there are insufficient funds, the visa application may be refused.
